Navigating to Properties
Problem:
Starting a business in a new town isn’t easy especially when the business is selling real estate and the town is situated in a fast growing area of southern California. It’s hard to show properties when you simply can’t find your way around town. That paper street map picked up at the convenience store is fine when in the office but when driving between properties while trying to make a favorable impression with a client in the passenger seat, it just doesn’t work. A more efficient mapping tool is needed that shows properties on the map, helps you determine the best route from the office to each location, and guides you along the way.
Solution:
Like many professionals, real estate agents are increasingly trading in their bulky desktop PCs for laptop computers, enabling them to take their office on the road. With Street Atlas USA 2008 PLUS installed and an Earthmate LT-20 GPS receiver attached, the laptop is transformed into a high-end, in-vehicle navigation system. Before hitting the road, property addresses are quickly located and navigational routes created to show the optimal driving directions. In the car, the current position on the map is indicated by a green arrow with the directions clearly displayed below the map. What’s more, spoken directions allow the driver to keep her eyes on the road and her hands on the wheel. With the confidence that comes from knowing that she will not get lost, the agent can focus on what she does best: selling real estate.
