Creating a Marketing List from Phone Data
Problem:
An insurance company in southern New England has made the decision to specialize on providing insurance coverage for the building and construction industry. This focused approach requires more proactive marketing, and it is therefore imperative that they develop a strategy to identify potential clients and to set up as many face-to-face meetings as possible. Unfortunately the only available sources of information on construction companies in the region are phone books, and scouring the yellow pages for each area is a laborious task. Even after a list is generated, the location of each company’s offices must be manually identified on a map. After a frustrating and ultimately fruitless week spent in the local library’s phone book section, they realize that they will need a more effective marketing tool or they will be forced out of business.
Solution:
XMap 5.0 GIS Professional includes a powerful phone search tool that offers instant access to an up-to-date database of over 140 million U.S. and Canadian business and residential listings. Using XMap, the insurance company’s marketing staff are able to generate a list of all of the builders in the state within a matter of seconds, a process that would have previously taken weeks. Furthermore, XMap also allows them to geocode the search results so that a point appears on the map at the location of each of the targeted businesses. By simply clicking on the point, they can see the name, address and contact information for each record. Preconfigured queries allow them to create subsets of the data within certain areas. Armed with this information they can then allocate these regional prospect lists to individual agents who can use XMap 5.0 Professional to generate detailed driving directions to each location.
